Thomas Gabriel
Professor for Childhood, Youth and Family at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences

Thomas Gabriel is the director of the Institute of Childhood, Youth and Family at the Department of Social Work at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW), Switzerland. His current studies focus on adoption, residential and foster care and the effects of institutional care on the life trajectories of affected children. Since 2014 he has been conducting an international study on “Foster Care Placement Breakdown”.
