Marlis Buchmann, Professor of Sociology and Principal Investigator COCON, Jacobs Center for Productive Youth Development at the University of Zurich, sheds light on factors that promote or impair how children cope with developmental challenges such as the transition to school. Her research shows that social competencies as well as parenting styles play an important role in a child’s successful transition to school.
