Elizabeth Bonawitz is the director of the Computational Cognitive Development Lab at Rutgers University – Newark. She explores how children revise their beliefs by combining methods from developmental psychology, education, and computational models of cognition. In particular, she focuses on the dynamic interplay between children’s prior beliefs and new evidence, children’s drive to seek out information in play, and the role of social factors shaping children’s inferences. Bonawitz is a 2017-2019 Jacobs Foundation Research Fellow.
