Monica Ellwood-Lowe, BOLD writer
Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Pennsylvania

Monica Ellwood-Lowe is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Pennsylvania, with a focus on children’s language and brain development. Her childhood attending Milwaukee Public Schools led her to questions about inequity and the structure of society that she has continued to explore ever since. She studies how children develop in an unequal society, and the ways both children and their caregivers adapt to various structural constraints. Monica completed her PhD in Psychology at UC Berkeley and her BA at Stanford University.
