Edy Portmann

Edy Portmann is a Swiss Post Professor of Computer Science at the Human-IST Institute of the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. His transdisciplinary research focuses on cognitive computing and its application to cities. After completing an apprenticeship as an electrician, Edy Portmann studied information systems, business and economics. He subsequently earned a doctorate in computer science. He has been a researcher at the National University of Singapore, the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of Bern (Switzerland).
