Socially aware technology may help disadvantaged children learn

Justine Cassell, a professor at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, talks about the social infrastructure of learning. She explains how she develops “socially aware” technology that can assess the strength of the relationship bond between a learner and learning technology, respond accordingly and thereby increase student learning gains.
